AERO FLYP, Mumbai
Aero Flyp@ MTV is an upcoming cafe in JW Marriot, Sahar, Mumbai. Due to its proximity to the airport, it is aimed to cater to the frequently flying, corporate guests. Keeping this in mind, the restaurant design inspiration has been taken from old airplane hangers and abandoned airports. But all these elements begin at a height of 3' above the floor. Below 3', the design is lux and classic, with wooden wainscoting, wooden floorinf, heavy curtains, classic leather furniture & heavy lamps. The space was divided in to two zones, one for the sit-in-diners, and one for the young energetic visitors, with a live performance stage at the center. Problems such as sound reflection & insulation were taken care of by incorporating materials such as plants suspended from ceiling and attached to walls, making the design of the place interesting too. Since MTV's branding requires a certain level of playfulness, lacquered glass partitions were proposed along with colored mirrors, giving the cafe a fun vibe.
